SERGEANT Jump Test
The sergeant jump test measures power of the leg muscle by seeing how high an athlete can jump from a static position.
- Measure the athlete's standing reach height and mark it.
- Then jump up and attempt to touch the wall as high as possible from a static position and from two feet.
- Measure the distance between the standing reach height and where the athlete touched the wall.

Advantages
The advantages of the sergeant jump test are:

An alternative test - MEDICINE BALL THROW
The disadvantages of the sergeant jump are that it only measures leg power, and jumping technique is also very important and will impact the score. An alternative test to use is the medicine ball throw.
The medicine ball throw test measures upper body power, it is performed by throwing a medicine ball from behind the head with both hands, similar to a football throw-in.
